General left right divide/ Hierarchies
Individual/group winners and losers The link provided is from a Wiki and is not meant to be authoritative but as an example of how independent group might coordinate with Wikis and other organizations working around information A couple of points on how the general context of this framing
1- Rarely does the question free will and agency come up in a meaningful way
2- The idea of an individual as highly engaged and with a lot of interaction requires a seeming ability to interact well with others. yet there is a lingering connotation of an individual as isolationist. A contradiction, or awkwardness develops for some constructions of individualism when those individuals are required to work in a group setting. Ideally it seems a good individualist would never see cooperating as anti individualist
2B Is it a principle to oppose cooperative forms of decision making simply on the generalization of the structure as opposed to process. Obviously a cooperative efforts are just as vulnerable as any other system to be disputed by the tendency to not always happily work with one another. Capitalism and rules are a rather naked attempt to remove these impediments of relating
3- Generally so called individualistic cultures will be measured on some kind of group basis. A GDP of a given country being a prime example. Most proponents of individualism will often argue that countries which allow for individual rights maximize efficiencies and resonate with a basic human nature and that such a society will result in the highest scores within such metrics. The only questionable assumption then becomes whether both collectivist and individualist are saying we need to maximize the potential of the individual within the context of the group. If the insistence is that individualism by nature extracts from the group or is acting against the end goal of the group. One could also assert that individualist cultures have no group think to rub against. that is a different argument which we could take up if anyone has the interest
