Indexes/Encyclopedia- Indexes are often useful in terms of getting small bits of information on a wide variety of subject. For instance food stuffs and nutritional substances can be formed into spread sheet formations Those encyclopedias which claim a cooperative basis in theory have a dutt ot the public to demonstrate that supposed capacity
Groups and organizations- Critiques of these groups are going to be razors edge operation. Often such groups are those who have spent the most effort on a given issue. However they at the same time tend to not always welcome the general public's involvement
Experts- This is an issue that needs a deeper explanation, so an additional page is provided. Experts are necessary but they still have complicating factors such as dogma and a lack of willingness to partake in discussions with others.
Polling- Demographics Two different but related functions. Polling and surveys have generally never been applied in the cause of a grassroots community effort that I know of. there would seem to be a good deal of potential to give us better demographics to base decisions on
Practitioner training's/Schools - The public's ability to understand the schools experts are trained at provide them both with a deeper understanding of practitioner's training but also gives the community information towards creating their own local schools in some cases
Local education centers/media In this context we would be referring to a physical location which would hopefully provide some individuals with expertise for discussion or guidance. Depending on the subject it may or may not have a physical demonstration aspect
Identifying experts by category - In terms of practitioners we can generally draw up a list of those that correspond either in a general way to the given topic or to some specific sub specialty. But we might also need lists of researchers, reporters and critics
What determines a category? An important question and one whose answer will hopefully evolve with greater input. Just as important is what seems to connect distinct categories since this can lead to a kind of geography of information that makes finding things easier
Copyright, citation proprietary issues A pretty big issue. We need to consider both the existing laws and their objective underpinnings, as well as, how we as locals want to address copyright and citation on any local collaborative projects
Connection to the mindset section issues Were not looking to diagnose everyone but it would be nice to try to outline this incredible diverse subjects associated with this category in a way that allows individuals a way to get involved in mindset issues if they so choose
Modalities This actually includes some of the other topics here as podcast, books, conferences etc. but would also include virtually every 'way' information is transmitted. Low power FM, local blogs and discussion forums, local newspapers, pamphleteering etc
Modalities as compared to local media
