Some definitions and parameters of health are relatively simple and not especially difficult to express Lifespan is a universally accepted top line health metric Many diseases have relatively clear causation, recognizable manifestations on standardized diagnostic measures Even drugs and surgeries are generally well understood in their benefits and complications. But even with those relative certainties much remains ambiguous. Is lifespan slowly slipping lower regardless of Covid statistics, and seemingly in contradiction to ever expanding medical understandings and applications Chronic disease numbers have skyrocket in the last 30 years, again in the face of the supposed scientific progress in medicine and consumer protections in food, and home and work environments. The focus here is not to offer any definitive conclusions on any of these controversies, but to rather lay some kind of groundwork in which to address these questions. Such a groundwork will include a combination of analytical tools and indexes to locate the relevant data, and the distinction between the two is not necessarily spelled out in the menus. since it is more philosophical in nature
Formal education, such as medical school is another category documents and records of statements from officials
